Be Blessed Verse

This week’s verse is Genesis 9:13

It says, “I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.” -KJV

I love rainbows!!! They are sooooo beautiful and glorious!

How many colors are really in one as they gently blend from one color to the next with 1000, if not more colors in between?

And when they double up, “Wow, what a sight!”

Such a  spectacular sight. One is super bright and the next one is not quite as bright.

Do the colors evoke emotions?

Absolutely!

The next morning, after I gave my life to the Lord, I woke up to the word Covenant!

And then again. Covenant!

I lay there and thought, “What is that word?” Not sure what it means.  And then I realized, it was the Lord talking to me.  I also realized, He is alive and He is talking to me.  So now I continue to learn of my covenant with Him.

He says when we see the bow in the sky, it absolutely reminds us of the Covenant He made with us.

It definitely reminds me of the covenant He made with me!

It is very special indeed!

How Color Inspires Emotion at Home

Creating Cozy, Comfortable, Yet Colorful Rooms

Each person enjoys a certain level of colors in their home.

This has always fascinated me!

Why do some people want neutrals? Others, black and white? And others, fall, winter, spring, or summer colors?

And then there are levels of tints (color plus white), tones (colors plus grey), and shades (colors plus black).

It is absolutely endless, the colors available.

No wonder color is difficult to choose in our homes.

How do we choose?

I have found through the years that we each have a warm or cool undertone to our skin.

And I have seen over and over again that we love to be surrounded by those colors that are like us.

It is the same with fashion.

If we choose the wrong color for us, it washes us out.

I don't know about you, but I don’t feel good in colors that are not great for me.

My skin tone is warm based and I tend toward and feel better in warm-based colors.

Many of my clients have a cool skin tone base. I select cool colors for them because that is what they like best.  They look and feel the best wearing cool colors and love the same colors surrounding them in their homes.

So the colors you choose for your home do matter.

Evoking Emotion While Infusing Impact & Energy

Another area of choosing your home colors is how saturated you want the colors.

In other words, how bright you want them.

There are some people who would be bored to death with calming neutral colors.

I have a cousin like that.  She is so vibrant, outgoing, and vivacious!  That guides what she wants to color-wise in her home.  She loves more colors than most of us can take.  But she loves it!

She sold her home.  Yes, they will sell.  And guess what, her next home is different, but still the same with vibrant colors!  It is emotionally uplifting for her and her family.  They are all cool skin undertones, outgoing people, and they all love the vibrancy too.

There are so many scenarios.

Some people like high contrast.  Usually, they naturally have dark hair and light skin.

Think Sher.  I remember a house I saw of hers in Architectural Digest.  In the magazine, her room was almost completely white.  When she sat down in it, she was the contrast.  She was the art and contrast of that room.  I loved it.

Others, like the medium-toned color scheme, and others, lots of nature and plants.

The list goes on and on.

That is why I am not a signature designer.

I am a dream designer!

I have a youtube video called What Fits You Better - Dream Design or Signature Interior Design? if you want to know more about that.

I love the differences between people and help them reflect that in their homes.

The list is endless…And don’t worry!

I have seen through the years that husbands and wives are usually the same skin undertone and that makes it easy for everyone in the house to be innate happy!

When I do interior designs…

I love natural items, or if not real, excellent copies that even fool me.

I was highly influenced by an American Interior Designer, Michael Taylor.  I loved his work, they called it California Natural.  It was so organic, natural, and exquisitely beautiful.  He died much too young, though!

I love wood, stones, cement, different metals and plants and flowers, baskets, and art.  I get excited just talking and writing about it.

To me, natural things made by God are the most beautiful of all and extremely hard to replicate.

Some do a great job though and some miss the mark terribly.

My point with the natural items is that they are color too.

Woods have color, stone has color, metals, and even plants have colors.  Make sure that they harmonize in the home too!  Just a reminder…

Soothing a Space with Less Saturated, Subtle Shades

I, and many others, like to choose less saturated colors, pastels, warm tones, and neutrals for spaces that soothe and relax. That is relaxing to me.

As I stated above, it could bore others who love vibrant colors.

I do add a splash of bright color here and there for excitement and dramatic lighting helps create that relaxing mood I personally love!

I am so interested in what you like.

I love to learn who you are and about your family.

What do you do for a living? Where have you traveled? What did you see, and learn, and what artifacts did you bring home?  That is NEVER boring to me.

There are so many colors, color schemes, and ways to put it all together. It is endless and exciting!

Ending Blessings to you and your families.

As our verse for this episode, I hope you get to see lots of beautiful rainbows in the near future. It is God’s token as a reminder of His Covenant with us!  Such a beautiful gift, gesture, and reminder from our Maker for every single one of us!

And I pray that the Lord is with you, delighting and rejoicing over you with singing this week.

Until next time…
